Re: Bike - Syd Barrett
As much as I love Floyd's output up until The Wall, Syd IS THE Pink Floyd and his output (including the solo stuff) covered just about every possible direction without repeating himself. I love him; the most inspired and inspiring of the 60s set.

People say he went mad, but after his death enough details came out to suggest he went sane. Decided to opt out of the rock n troll circus, and went home to look after his mum, learning to be a DIY expert, completely independant. Roger, his real name, was well known in the local builders' merchants in Cambridge. Nobody realsied he was a rock icon, just thought he was a builder who knew his stuff and was always in buying stuff to tinker with. I was glad to learn he went that way and not a dribbling mess in the corner of his childhood bedroom.

Love that first album. Used to be in a band that did a cover of Lucifer Sam - huge fun to play.

An NR post saying something positive about dogs.

There has been something odd about this weekend.

*waits for an "in praise of Stilton" thread.
